How to choose a hydraulic hose press

List the inner diameters and types of the hoses you crimp (such as 4SH, 1SN, R1-R2) and the largest diameter. MT 11 crimps 4SH hoses from 3/16″ to 1″. MT 12 covers the same range plus 1 1/4″ 1SN hose. MT 30 suits 3/16″–2″ R1-R2-4SH-R15 hoses, and MT 35 suits 3/16″–2 1/2″ R1-R2-4SH-R15 hoses.

For industrial hoses, MT 30 covers 3″–4″ and MT 35 covers 3″–6″. MT 55 crimps hose and pipe up to and including 10″. Start from the model whose limit is closest above the largest value in your range.

If you replace construction-machine hoses on site, where there may be no electricity, choose MT 11: it is manually controlled, weighs 70 kg and suits 3/16″–1″ 4SH hoses.

If you assemble hoses regularly in a workshop, the electric-motor models MT 12, MT 30, MT 35 and MT 55 come into play. Motor power runs from 4 kW to 11 kW; MT 12 weighs 250 kg, MT 30 950 kg and MT 55 3000 kg. Account for floor space and foundation early on.

MT 12 and MT 30 come with digital control and run in automatic or manual mode. On MT 30 the crimping speed is at least 12 pieces per minute, and there is a rear fitting stop for serial work and an adjustable return time in automatic use.

MT 35 and MT 55 come with a 7″ PLC colour touchscreen and can store hose sizes; on MT 30 the PLC screen is an option. An oil cooler is optional for MT 30, MT 35 and MT 55. Tell us your daily volume and how many different hose sizes you crimp.

We make crimping dies in the form and diameter you need for METflex presses. With MT 11, MT 12 and MT 30 you can crimp air-conditioning, steering and brake hoses, and MT 30 includes dies as standard for hoses with 90-degree elbow fittings on both ends, from 3/16″ to 4″.

MT 35 and MT 55 are designed for pipe as well as hose; MT 55 crimps hose and pipe up to and including 10″, with an outer-diameter capacity of 300 mm.

For forming a male end (“taklan”) on scaffolding pipes we have the Pipe End Press (Boru Ucu Pres Makinası), applied by swaging to the ends of 48-size scaffolding pipes. Tell us your pipe diameter and production quantity and we will choose the right solution together.

Cutting the hose to length and, where needed, skiving it are the preparation steps before crimping. The Hose Cutting Machine is a manual bench-top unit that cuts hoses up to and including 2″, with a 400 mm saw blade. The Hose Skiving Machine is also bench-top, skives 3/8″–1 1/4″ hoses and has 6 dies.

On MT 30, skiving dies for 3/8″–2″ hoses are fitted on the press as standard, so you do not need a separate skiving machine. If you work with larger diameters, compare your hose range with the ranges of these machines.
