The Hose Cutting Machine is a manual bench-top machine that cuts hose to length before crimping. It cuts hoses up to and including 2″ with a 400 mm saw blade, and is the first step of the hose line: cutting, skiving if needed, then crimping. Tell us your hose type and diameter and we will tell you if it fits.
What job is a hose cutting machine used for?
Hydraulic hose assembly starts with cutting: the hose is cut to length with a saw, then skived if needed, and the fitting is crimped in the press. This machine is for the first step of the crimping line: bench-top, manual, cuts hoses up to and including 2″, with a 400 mm saw blade.

Who is the hose cutting machine for?
- Suitable: hydraulic workshops that cut hose up to 2″ to length and feed it to the fitting-crimping line.
- Suitable: small workshops that look for a bench-top, manual solution.
- For jobs that must cut hose larger than 2″, write your hose diameter and we will find the solution together.
- For jobs that want automatic, programmable cutting, write your need and we will tell you if it fits.
Which hoses does it cut?
The Hose Cutting Machine cuts hoses up to and including 2″; capacity is defined by hose diameter. The saw blade diameter is 400 mm.

Installation and use
What you need to know for installation and use:
- The machine is bench-top; a solid bench is needed.
- Use is manual.
- You can watch the working video on our YouTube channel (titled “Hose Cutting and Stripping”).
How does it compare with the skiving machine and MT 30?
The Hose Skiving Machine is also bench-top and skives 3/8″–1 1/4″ hoses; the 2″ range of the cutting machine is wider than that of skiving. MT 30 carries skiving dies as standard on the press for 3/8″–2″ but does not cut the hose to length; a separate machine is still needed for cutting. The cutting machine is one of our related products for use with MT 11, MT 35 and MT 55.
How does cut quality affect crimping?
The length of the finished hose assembly is converted into a cutting length by counting the fitting lengths. The cut must be square to the hose axis and the wires must not fray; a skewed or torn cut spoils the seating of the fitting. After cutting, chips and debris inside the hose must be cleaned out, because particles that get into the hydraulic oil damage the system.
Hose cutting machine frequently asked questions
Can the hose cutting machine cut hose larger than 2″?
It cuts hoses up to and including 2″. For a larger size, write your hose diameter and we will find the solution together.
Is it manual or electric?
It is manual and bench-top.
Must I buy it together with a crimping press?
No. Cutting, skiving and crimping are separate machines; you can ask for separate quotes according to your needs.
Where does it sit in the crimping line?
The order is cutting, skiving, crimping; the cutting bench is at the head of the press line. Write to us for bench placement.
How do I work out the length to cut the hose?
Subtract the lengths of the two fittings that stay outside the hose from the overall length of the finished assembly; fitting lengths are given in the fitting maker’s catalogue. What remains is your cutting length.
What is done after cutting?
Clean the chips and debris out of the hose; skive it if the hose needs skiving, then fit the fitting and crimp it in the press.
Which hose presses is it used with?
Cutting is a separate step; the machine can be used with all our hose presses, such as MT 11, MT 12, MT 30, MT 35 and MT 55. Its capacity is for hoses up to and including 2″.
How much does the hose cutting machine cost?
The price depends on the equipment. Request a quote and we will get back to you according to your needs.
What do I need for a quote?
- The hose type to be cut and the largest diameter.
- Approximate daily number to cut.
- Bench size and placement; ask us for the machine’s dimensions and weight.
- If skiving and crimping are on the same line, the hose types and diameter range.
