A hose crimping machine presses a fitting onto the end of a hydraulic hose with a die. Our METflex family has 5 models, from the portable MT 11 to the 550-ton MT 55. They cover 110–550 tons of crimping force and a 3/16″–10″ hose range; you choose by your hose diameter and place of work.
What does a hose crimping machine do?
The fitting on the end of a hydraulic hose is secured by crimping it in a press. The press applies radial force around hose and fitting through a die; after crimping the fitting does not pull off and the joint stays leak-tight. For a good result die diameter, fitting and hose must match.

Which jobs is it used for?
With our models you can do the following jobs:
- Crimping high-pressure hydraulic hose and hydraulic fittings (MT 11, 12, 30, 35, 55).
- Crimping air-conditioning, steering and brake hose (MT 11, MT 12, MT 30).
- Crimping steel rope (MT 11, 12, 30, 35, 55).
- Crimping pipe and air-suspension bellows (MT 30, MT 35, MT 55).

How do the models differ?
From MT 11 to MT 12 force rises from 110 to 130 tons, and a 4 kW electric motor, digital control and automatic/manual operation arrive; die sets go from 6 to 7 and weight from 70 kg to 250 kg. MT 12 also adds 1 1/4″ 1SN hose.

MT 30 has 300 tons, an outer-diameter capacity of 120 mm, a maximum opening of 200 mm, a 7.5 kW motor and a crimping speed of at least 12 per minute, with 3/8″–2″ skiving dies on the press. MT 35 has 350 tons, 200 mm outer diameter, 300 mm opening and a 150 mm master die length; the hose range reaches 2 1/2″ and industrial hose 6″.
MT 55 rises to 550 tons, 300 mm outer diameter, 400 mm opening, a 200 mm master die length and an 11 kW motor; its weight is 3000 kg. On MT 11 and MT 12 the maximum opening is defined as “+20 mm” and “+17.5 mm”; let us settle your opening requirement together when choosing dies.
Which measures do I choose by?
Hose type and largest diameter: start from the model whose limit is closest above your range.
Place of work: MT 11 for the field without electricity, motorised models for the workshop.
Daily volume: for serial work pick models with digital control, automatic operation, foot pedal and die rack; MT 30 crimps at least 12 per minute.
Control: manual (MT 11), digital (MT 12, MT 30), 7″ PLC touchscreen (MT 35, MT 55; option on MT 30).
Floor and transport: MT 11 weighs 70 kg, MT 12 250 kg, MT 30 950 kg and MT 55 3000 kg; the machine size of MT 30 is 90 × 110 × 170 cm.
Which hose standards appear?
4SH is a four-spiral high-pressure hose class, 1SN a single-wire-braid hose, R1 and R2 single and double wire-braid SAE hoses, and R15 a multi-spiral high-pressure SAE hose. Which model has the highest crimping force?
MT 55: 550 tons. It is followed by MT 35 with 350 tons, MT 30 with 300 tons, MT 12 with 130 tons and MT 11 with 110 tons.
Which model is portable?
MT 11: it weighs 70 kg, is manually controlled and also works where there is no electricity.
Which models have digital control and a PLC screen?
MT 12 and MT 30 have digital control. MT 35 and MT 55 come with a 7″ PLC colour touchscreen and can store hose sizes; on MT 30 the PLC screen is an option.
